I couldn't wait to shoot this wedding. We were sitting at a bar below their Hong Kong apartment when Vanessa and Harry described their wedding day to me. It was going to be on a beautiful patch of grass where no one ever goes, surrounded by ocean and trees. Everywhere you look you would find little personal touches, such as flowers, signboards, a polaroid station, colourful sunglasses for all the guests, and much more. The ceremony would start in the late afternoon with the sun just starting to sink, and afterwards as the sun when down there would be games on the lawn, a do-it-yourself gin bar, and time to enjoy the warmth of the day. In the evening there would great food, music, dancing and celebration late into the night. When the day finally came, it was everything I imagined.
This week I had a chance to visit the beautifully put together Pop Up Wedding Shoppe in downtown Vancouver. It was inspiring to see all the different wedding vendors there, such as The Jar Girl (for all your jar needs), The Good Oak (for all your soap needs), and Cabin+Cub (for all your wooden cufflink and cake topper needs). The shoppe is only open until February 14, so if you're in the throws of wedding planning, make sure to stop by soon! Address and details here.
